DESCRIPTION

SikaWall® SkimCoat VN is a premium quality cementitious fine finishing coat specially formulated for skimming on walls and ceilings. Its smooth architectural finishing and superior adhesion strength is suitable for both internal and external applications.
SikaWall® SkimCoat VN can be used immediately with the addition of the required water content and mixing with either a hand-held or mechanical mixer, producing a homogeneous paste with a good workability.

USES

SikaWall® SkimCoat VN is developed as a finish coat suitable for application on concrete surfaces, light weight concrete slabs, pre-cast panels, soffits, block walls, lightweight autoclaved aerated blocks and rendered surfaces.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

Mixing ratio: 31 – 35 % water part by weight (Approx. 7.7 – 8.7 L of clean water per 25 kg/bag)

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
Surface should be structurally sound, clean, free from oil, grease, dust deposits and other contaminants that may affect adhesion. Dry substrates should be dampened before application of SikaWall® SkimCoat VN.
MIXING
Add approximately 7.7 – 8.7 L of clean water to SikaWall® SkimCoat VN and mix thoroughly using a hand-held or mechanical mixer for 3 – 5 minutes until a homogenous lump-free paste is achieved.
APPLICATION
Use a steel trowel for application while the mix is still workable. It can be applied at a recommended thickness of 1 – 3 mm per layer, application up to a total build-up thickness (maximum 6 mm). Ensure that each layer is dry before applying the subsequent layer. SikaWall® SkimCoat VN can be finished with a soft brush or trowelled smooth. The wet mix should be used within the pot life after mixing.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
Remove non-hardened SikaWall® SkimCoat VN product from tools and equipment with water. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically
